Prostadine's label directions are two full droppers, about 2 mL, once a day, preferably in the morning. Shake the bottle first, then take the drops straight or stir them into coffee, tea, juice or water. A 60 mL bottle at that rate lasts about 30 days, which is why it is sold as a one month supply.
The part no one else prints: there is no published trial on the finished formula, so nobody can tell you how long it takes to work or whether it will. What you can do is run a fair 60 day test inside the money-back window, with a written bladder diary instead of memory, and use the refund if the numbers do not move. This page walks through exactly how.
Key takeaways
- Directions: 2 full droppers (about 2 mL) once daily in the morning, shaken well, straight or in a drink. Do not double up after a missed day.
- A full glass dropper on a 60 mL bottle draws roughly 1 mL, which is an approximation, not a calibrated measure. The bottle math (60 mL over 30 days) confirms the 2 mL serving.
- Supplement trials for prostate symptoms judge results at 12 weeks to 72 weeks, and placebo alone cuts symptom scores by 9 to 34 percent. Two weeks of "I feel better" proves nothing.
- Judge it with a baseline week, a nightly bathroom count and the 7 question AUA symptom score, then compare at day 55.
- If you take levothyroxine, tamsulosin, finasteride or any prescription, ask the prescriber first. The seaweed iodine in this formula is the interaction that matters most.
- ClickBank's default return window is 60 days from purchase. Keep the order number and email, and request the refund at CLKBANK.COM before day 60 if nothing changed.
The official Prostadine directions
Prostadine is a liquid, sold in a 2 fl oz (60 mL) amber bottle with a glass dropper in the cap. The manufacturer's instructions are simple enough to fit on one line: shake the bottle well, take two full droppers once a day, preferably in the morning, either directly in the mouth or mixed into a drink. Coffee, tea and juice are all named as acceptable. We covered the label, the nine ingredients and the price tiers in detail in our full Prostadine review, so this page stays on the practical question of how to actually use the bottle.
Two things the directions do not say. There is no instruction about food, so with or without a meal is consistent with the label. And there is no per-ingredient amount: the formula lists nori yaki extract, wakame extract, kelp powder, bladderwrack, saw palmetto, pomegranate extract, iodine, shilajit and neem, but not how many milligrams of each are in a serving. That gap is why so much of this page is about testing rather than expecting.
What "two full droppers" actually measures
Most glass droppers packaged with 1 oz and 2 oz tincture bottles draw about 1 mL when the bulb is fully squeezed and released, and that is the assumption behind "two droppers equals about 2 mL." Treat it as an approximation: a thicker liquid pulls slightly less, a half squeeze pulls much less, and the glass tube has no calibration lines. The check that does not depend on any of that is the bottle itself. Sixty mL divided by 2 mL a day is 30 days, and the product is sold as a 30 day supply. If a bottle lasts you six weeks you are under-dosing; if it is gone in three, over-dosing. A 1 mL oral syringe from any pharmacy removes the guesswork if you want it.
What "shake well" is for
Botanical liquids separate. Powdered seaweed extracts, shilajit and pomegranate extract settle, so the top of a bottle that sat overnight is thinner than the bottom, and unshaken first-week droppers are weaker than last-week ones. Ten seconds of shaking keeps every dose the same, which is the only way a before and after comparison means anything.
Morning or night?
The label says morning. No study has compared morning and evening dosing, because no study has tested Prostadine at all. The best argument for the morning is behavioral: a supplement tied to a fixed habit, such as the first cup of coffee, gets taken; one that floats through the day gets forgotten. Consistency is worth more than the clock.
If you prefer the evening, note that 2 mL is less than half a teaspoon and will not fill a bladder, but the drink you stir it into might. Take it with a small amount of liquid and leave at least two hours before bed, the same rule that applies to any fluid when nighttime urination is the complaint.
With coffee, tea, juice or water?
The directions allow all of them, so taste is the practical issue. Marine botanicals are briny and slightly bitter, and the one first-hand report we have, from the author's 76-year-old father, who used the product for three months, was that strong coffee covered it, juice worked, and plain water did not. That is one man's palate, not data.
Coffee raises a point for your test. A man who starts Prostadine in his coffee and also goes from one cup to three has changed two things at once. Keep the number of cups the same for the 60 days, and the same goes for alcohol, evening fluids and any new medication: change one thing, measure, then change the next.
How long does Prostadine take to work? The honest answer
Every answer to this question you will find online is a guess dressed up as a timeline. Here is why we refuse to give one. There is no published clinical trial of the finished Prostadine formula, which is true of nearly every branded blend, so the only timelines available come from trials of individual ingredients. The best of those, for the most studied ingredient in the formula, are not encouraging. The STEP trial gave 225 men 160 mg of saw palmetto extract twice a day for a full year and found a symptom score difference of 0.04 points versus placebo (95 percent confidence interval, -0.93 to 1.01), which is zero for practical purposes.2 The CAMUS trial ran 72 weeks, escalated the dose to three times the standard amount, and found the placebo group improved slightly more than the saw palmetto group: 2.99 points versus 2.20 points on the AUA symptom index.1 The 2024 Cochrane update pooled 27 studies and 4,656 men and concluded that saw palmetto alone "provides little to no benefits" for urinary symptoms, with high certainty evidence at follow-up of 3 to 6 months.3 We covered what that means for dosing in our saw palmetto dosage guide.
Two things in those numbers matter for your timeline. First, researchers measured results at 12, 24, 52 and 72 weeks. Nobody serious looks at week two. Second, men on placebo in CAMUS improved by nearly 3 points, and that is not an oddity: a review of the placebo effect in lower urinary tract symptom trials found placebo alone reduces symptom scores by 9 to 34 percent, against 22 to 45 percent for active drugs.4 Urinary symptoms fluctuate, and starting something and paying attention makes most men feel better for a while, whatever the bottle contains.
What this means in plain terms. "How long until Prostadine works" is not a question anyone can answer from evidence. The useful version of the question is: "How long should I give it before I decide, and how do I decide honestly?" The answer to that is the 60 day refund window, judged by a written record rather than by how you feel on a good morning.
How to run your own 60 day test
This costs nothing but a notepad, and it turns "I think it might be helping" into a number you can compare.
Week zero: get a baseline before the first dropper
- Count your nights up for seven nights before you start. Each morning, write down how many times you got up to urinate. A bladder diary is what the NIDDK recommends for bladder problems; theirs records what and how much you drink, when and how much you urinate, and any urgency.6 For this test, the nightly count and rough evening fluids are enough. If you are not sure what counts as too many, our guide on how many times a night is normal to urinate gives the numbers.
- Fill out the AUA Symptom Index once. This is the 7 question score used in every trial cited above: incomplete emptying, frequency, intermittency, urgency, weak stream, straining and nocturia, each rated 0 to 5 for a total of 0 to 35. A score of 0 to 7 is mild, 8 to 35 moderate to severe. A free public version is on MDCalc.5 Write the total down with the date.
- Note your other variables. Cups of coffee, evening drinks, medications, bedtime. These stay the same for 60 days.
Days 1 to 55: same dose, same time, keep writing
- Shake, two full droppers, same time every morning, same drink.
- Keep the nightly count going, one line per day.
- Repeat the AUA Symptom Index at day 28 and day 55.
- Write down any new symptom the day it appears, especially the thyroid ones listed below.
- Keep the ClickBank confirmation email and order number where you can find them.
Day 55: read the numbers, not your mood
Compare the average nightly count in your last two weeks to your baseline week, and compare the symptom score. Then apply the placebo lesson: an improvement of 2 to 3 points on a 35 point scale is inside the range men get from a sugar pill.4 If you went from four trips a night to one and your score dropped by 8, something changed, and it is reasonable to keep going and tell your doctor. If you went from three trips to two and a half, the product did not do enough to justify $69 a month, and the guarantee exists for exactly that outcome.

Missed doses and doubling up
If you forget a morning, take the next day's serving as usual and skip the one you missed. Do not take four droppers to catch up: there is no dose response data to justify a larger serving, and it doubles that day's iodine from four seaweed sources at once. For comparison, the prescription advice for finasteride, a prostate drug that has actually been tested, is to skip the missed dose and "not take a double dose to make up for a missed one."9 A supplement with far less data deserves at least that much caution.
One missed day out of 60 will not affect your test. A dozen will, so record them in the diary.
Taking Prostadine with medications
There is no published interaction study for Prostadine, so everything below is reasoning from the ingredients and from official guidance on each medication, not from a test of the combination. The rule that overrides all of it: bring the ingredient list to the prescriber or pharmacist first. MedlinePlus tells patients to report "vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products" before taking nearly every drug listed here.9
| Medication | How the drug is taken | What to think about with a seaweed based liquid |
|---|---|---|
| Levothyroxine (Synthroid, Levoxyl) | Once a day on an empty stomach, 30 minutes to 1 hour before breakfast; separate from calcium and iron by at least 4 hours.7 | This is the combination to be most careful with. Prostadine contains kelp, bladderwrack, wakame, nori and added iodine, and MedlinePlus lists seaweed based supplements as a source of excess iodine that can push the thyroid to make too much hormone.10 Do not put the drops in the same morning slot as levothyroxine, and talk to the doctor managing your thyroid before starting at all. |
| Tamsulosin (Flomax) | Once a day, 30 minutes after the same meal each day.8 | No known timing conflict. Tamsulosin usually acts within days to weeks, so if you start both at once you will not know which one changed your symptoms. Start one, get a baseline, then add the other. |
| Finasteride (Proscar) or dutasteride | Once a day with or without food; MedlinePlus says it "may take at least 6 months" before prostate symptoms improve.9 | No known timing conflict. Note the 6 month window: that is how long a tested prostate drug is given before judgment, which puts the supplement world's "results in two weeks" claims in perspective. |
| Blood pressure, heart or blood thinning medication | As prescribed. | Ask the pharmacist to check your specific drug against each of the nine ingredients. |
A note on the iodine, the ingredient that sets this product apart from a saw palmetto capsule. The recommended daily amount of iodine for adults is 150 micrograms and the tolerable upper limit is 1,100 micrograms, and dried kelp can contain anywhere from about 1,300 to 12,700 micrograms of iodine per gram.12 Prostadine's label does not state how much iodine a serving delivers. We worked through what that uncertainty means, and who should avoid seaweed supplements altogether, in our guide to kelp supplements and the thyroid, and the full ingredient by ingredient breakdown is in our Prostadine ingredients analysis.
Storage
Cap tight, room temperature, out of direct sun and heat. The amber glass limits light exposure, and a bathroom windowsill or car glovebox defeats it. The label does not call for refrigeration, and cold liquid is thicker and harder to draw accurately. Wipe the dropper if it touches your mouth. Separation into layers is normal and is what shaking is for; a sour smell, a dramatic color change or visible growth is not, and means stop.
When to stop taking it
Stop and call your doctor, without waiting for day 55, if any of the following appears. Our separate page on Prostadine side effects goes deeper on each.
Signs of too much thyroid hormone
MedlinePlus lists the symptoms of hyperthyroidism as nervousness or irritability, fatigue, muscle weakness, trouble tolerating heat, trouble sleeping, tremor (usually in the hands), rapid and irregular heartbeat, frequent bowel movements or diarrhea, weight loss, mood swings and goiter, and it names "seaweed and seaweed-based supplements" among the sources of excess iodine that can cause it. In older adults the picture can be quieter: loss of appetite and social withdrawal.10 Four seaweeds plus added iodine is the definition of a seaweed based supplement.
Signs of too little thyroid hormone
Iodine can also push the thyroid the other way. MedlinePlus lists fatigue, weight gain, a puffy face, trouble tolerating cold, joint and muscle pain, constipation, dry skin, thinning hair, depression, slowed heart rate and goiter, and notes that people with Hashimoto's disease "may be sensitive to harmful side effects from iodine."11 Any thyroid diagnosis is a reason to clear this product with your doctor first.
Allergic reaction, stomach upset, and urinary red flags
Rash, hives, swelling of the lips or throat, or trouble breathing are an emergency. Nausea or loose stools lasting more than a few days mean stop and reassess. Separately, the NIDDK tells men to contact a health care professional right away if they cannot urinate at all, have painful, frequent and urgent urination with fever and chills, have blood in the urine, or have pain in the lower abdomen or urinary tract.13 None of those should be managed with drops or wait for a diary to fill up.
Day 55 and nothing changed: how to get the refund
Prostadine is sold through ClickBank, so the return terms you are relying on are ClickBank's. Its published policy says it "will, at its discretion, allow for the return or replacement of any product within 60 days from the date of purchase," that requests within 60 days may be approved by its customer service team, and that requests after 60 days are directed to the seller.14 The clock starts at purchase, not delivery, which is why we say day 55: it leaves margin for a weekend and for the shipping days you already burned.
The steps, from ClickBank's own customer help page:15
- Go to CLKBANK.COM, the customer service site for ClickBank orders.
- Look up the order with your order number, or with your zip code and the last four digits of the card you used.
- Select the order and click Request A Refund.
- Choose "Request a Refund" as the ticket type, pick a reason, and send.
ClickBank notes that once the refund period has passed, the option simply does not appear, so the date matters more than the reason.15 Whether you must ship bottles back is not addressed in ClickBank's general policy, which is written mostly around digital products, so check your order page for any seller-specific instruction. Our Prostadine review covers the price tiers, which matters here because a six-bottle order is a larger refund to chase than one bottle.
If you reach day 55 with numbers that did not move, that is not a failure on your part, and given the evidence on the ingredients it is not a surprise. It is the result of a fair test. Take the diary and the symptom scores to your doctor; they are exactly what a urologist wants to see, whatever you try next.
Frequently asked questions
What is the correct Prostadine dosage?
The label directions are two full droppers once a day, which works out to about 2 mL. A 60 mL bottle at that rate lasts roughly 30 days, which is how the product is sold. There is no published trial on the finished formula, so that serving is the manufacturer's instruction, not a dose that was tested against a lower or higher one.
Should I take Prostadine in the morning or at night?
The manufacturer says morning. No study has compared morning and evening dosing of this product, so the honest reason to pick morning is consistency: a fixed time tied to a fixed habit, such as breakfast or coffee, is the time you are least likely to miss. If you take levothyroxine in the morning, read the medication section on this page before choosing that slot.
Can you take Prostadine with coffee?
Yes. The directions say the drops can be taken straight or stirred into any drink, and coffee, tea and juice are named on the official page. Coffee also covers the seaweed taste better than water does, according to one man's report on our review. Just note that coffee itself can increase urination in some men, so keep your coffee intake steady during a test period or you will not know what changed.
How long does Prostadine take to work?
Nobody can give you an honest number, because there is no trial on the finished product. Ingredient trials in BPH measure results at 12 weeks to 72 weeks, and placebo alone reduces symptom scores by 9 to 34 percent in these studies. The practical answer is to use the 60-day refund window as your test: take it daily, keep a bladder diary, and compare the numbers at day 55 to the week before you started.
What if I miss a dose of Prostadine?
Take it the next morning as usual and do not double up. A liquid supplement with no published dose response data gives you no reason to take four droppers to catch up, and doing so doubles the day's iodine intake from the kelp, bladderwrack, wakame and nori in the formula. Missing one day of a two month test will not change the result. Missing many days will, so write it down on the diary.
Can I take Prostadine with tamsulosin, finasteride or levothyroxine?
Ask the prescriber before combining anything, and bring the ingredient list. There is no published interaction study for this product. The one timing rule that matters most involves levothyroxine: MedlinePlus says to take it on an empty stomach 30 minutes to 1 hour before breakfast and to separate it by at least 4 hours from calcium and iron products. A seaweed based iodine supplement taken in the same morning slot deserves the same caution and a conversation with the doctor who manages your thyroid.
When should I stop taking Prostadine?
Stop and call your doctor if you notice symptoms MedlinePlus lists for an overactive thyroid, such as a rapid or irregular heartbeat, tremor, unexplained weight loss, trouble sleeping or heat intolerance, or for an underactive thyroid, such as unusual fatigue, weight gain, cold intolerance or a swollen neck. Also stop for any allergic reaction or persistent stomach upset. Separately, seek care right away if you cannot urinate, see blood in your urine, or have painful urgent urination with fever, whether or not you are taking a supplement.
